This classic game of luck, strategy, and determination is easy to grasp for children as young as 6 years old, yet it's fun for adults and older siblings too. By drawing cards, players move their game pieces around the board, hoping to eventually accumulate all their pieces at the final destination--home sweet home. Sorry is known as the game of "sweet revenge," since players can send each other's pawns back to the starting line, thus forcing one another to lose ground and begin all over again. This kind of frustration may be hard for children under age 8 to handle. In fact, young ones typically crumble into tears of outrage when their pawns are cavalierly sent back. The only recourse is to teach children how to plot their own revenge, which makes them feel as powerful as superheroes. Since 1934, players of all ages have been chasing one another around the classic game board, trying to get their own four pawns from Start to Home. But it's not that easy, because you never know what the next card will hold: Will you move forwards or backwards' Will you hit a slide and shoot ahead, or will an opponent bump you back to start' For 2 to 4 players. Contents include: Sorry! game board, deck of cards, and 16 pawns.

Cirkis

Cirkis Review

Cirkis Feature

  • CirKis - the captivating game of circles and stars and it's so easy, anyone can play but can you win
  • Players take turns placing a piece on the board next to the last piece played. Completing circles and stars scores points
  • The first player to score 40 points wins the game
  • The game can also end if one player plays his/her final piece or if no further plays are available
  • Playing time is 15 minutes and up
CirKis is a fun, award-winning game in which players take turns placing pieces and compete for control of point-scoring zones. Played on a beveled, circular board, the game challenges players to use their spatial reasoning to strategically place their pieces. The game is governed by a single, simple rule: each piece must touch -- or "kiss" -- the piece placed before it. As the game progresses, you'll have to devise strategies to corner your opponents and achieve victory. Designed for ages eight and up, CirKis is sure to provide hours of mentally challenging fun.

Take turns placing pieces and compete for control of point-scoring zones in this addictive, award-winning game.

Although CirKis is easy to learn, winning requires spatial reasoning and cunning tactics. View larger.
Quick, Strategic, and Addictive
CirKis is designed for two to four players. The bigger the group, the more intense and competitive the game becomes -- much like Chinese Checkers. It is played on a circular board, which is engraved with a fractal pattern of shapes. Each player chooses one of four colors (purple, yellow, red or green) and takes turns placing their pieces on the board. The board features a ridged texture, so pieces snap easily into place when situated properly.

The game's rules are straightforward: the youngest player begins by placing one of his or her pieces inside the center ring/star. The next player is then free to place a new piece on the board -- just as long as it directly touches the last piece played. Pieces can make edge-to-edge contact with one another, or can simply touch point to point. As more and more pieces are placed, the board becomes a stunning kaleidoscope of different colors. Unfortunately, CirKis only comes with the 20 necessary pieces for play and no replacement pieces, so care should be taken not to lose any of the pieces.

Scoring occurs when certain parts of the board are captured by a player's pieces. Scattered across the board are ten circle areas and six star areas. Any time one of these shapes is completely filled in by pieces, points are awarded. The first player to reach 40 points wins. As the board becomes increasingly crowded, the game becomes a mad-dash for these special point-awarding "territories." Games are brisk and fast-paced, and typically take a little more than 15 minutes to resolve.

Easy to Learn, Tough to Master
Although CirKis is easy to learn, the game can involve a surprising depth of strategy. Winning against skilled players will require serious spatial reasoning and cunning tactics. As you gain experience playing the game, you will come up with your own unique strategies.

The game plays out like a colorful game of chess. There are nine different types of pieces, each with their own unique strategic purpose. "Big Slice" pieces, for instance, can be used to secure circle areas on the board, thus ensuring you ten points. As you play more, you will learn how to use these, and other, pieces to defend hot spots on the board or encircle your opponents. Just plan ahead, and you'll be racking up points in no time.
